The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) will be showcasing the latest advancements in sheep research, on-farm innovation, and biosecurity at this year’s Wagin Woolorama, taking place on March 7 and 8. In addition to the DPIRD’s display, the Western Australia Agritourism Association (WAAA) will also be present at the event, offering information and resources to support agritourism businesses incorporating sheep farming.
The DPIRD’s exhibit will feature experts on hand to share insights and answer questions. Key areas of focus will include:
- Meat the Market: Highlighting the importance of carcass quality measurements in producing high-value sheepmeat.
- Seasonal Information and Tools: Providing free water testing for salinity and pH, and demonstrating the Saltland Genie tool for managing saline land.

- Electronic Identification (eID): Assisting producers with understanding and implementing electronic identification for sheep and goats.
